Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy Kincumber
Hard chamber mild hyperbaric oxygen therapy at up to 2.0 ATA with oxygen concentrator. Central Coast NSW. Sessions available in 60 and 90 minute durations.
What is mHBOT.
Hyperbaric oxygen therapy involves breathing oxygen in a pressurised environment. Under increased atmospheric pressure, your lungs can take in more oxygen than they can at normal air pressure — and that oxygen dissolves directly into your blood plasma, reaching tissues and areas that red blood cells alone may not. At Absolute IV, sessions are delivered in a Cell Regen seated hard chamber using an oxygen concentrator, reaching pressures of up to 2.0 ATA — with 1.3 and 1.5 ATA options also available.
Hard Chamber vs Soft Chamber
Not all hyperbaric chambers are the same. Here is the practical difference.
Hard Chamber – Absolute IV
- Rigid structure capable of reaching and maintaining higher pressures up to 2.0 ATA
- Delivers concentrated oxygen via oxygen concentrator
- Pressure is precisely controlled and consistent throughout the session
- Cell Regen seated chamber — comfortable seated position for the full session
- Clinical-grade equipment
Soft Chamber (Inflatable)
- Flexible inflatable structure — lower maximum pressure typically 1.3 ATA
- Typically delivers ambient air rather than concentrated oxygen
- Common for home use and some wellness settings
- Lower cost but more limited in pressure range
How It Works
Henry’s Law
The science behind HBOT is grounded in Henry’s Law — the principle that the amount of gas dissolved in a liquid increases with pressure. Under normal conditions, oxygen is carried in your blood almost entirely by red blood cells. Under pressure, oxygen also dissolves directly into your blood plasma and other fluids — reaching tissues via routes that red blood cells cannot always access.
Oxygen Delivery
Areas with reduced circulation may receive less oxygen via normal blood flow. Dissolved oxygen in plasma can reach these areas more readily.

Your mHBOT Session
Before you arrive
Wear comfortable loose-fitting clothing. Avoid wearing strong perfumes or petroleum-based products. There are no fasting requirements for mHBOT.
Pre-session check
Your nurse will complete a brief health check before each session. If you have a cold or significant nasal congestion on the day, your session may need to be rescheduled as this can make ear equalisation difficult.
Pressurisation
As the chamber pressurises you will feel a sensation in your ears similar to descending in an aeroplane. You will need to equalise your ears — yawning, swallowing, or gently pinching your nose and blowing gently. If you find this difficult let your nurse know and the rate can be slowed.
During the session
Once at pressure most people find the experience comfortable and relaxing. You breathe normally. Sessions run for 60 or 90 minutes at pressure.
After your session
Most people feel well and are able to drive home immediately. Stay hydrated. You can go about your normal day.
Who Should Not Use mHBOT
- Untreated pneumothorax (collapsed lung) — absolute contraindication
- Significant difficulty equalising ears or sinuses
- Active upper respiratory infection or heavy nasal congestion on the day
- Recent ear or sinus surgery — discuss with your nurse and treating specialist
- Certain medications — disclose all medications at time of booking
- Pregnancy — consult your obstetrician before booking
- Uncontrolled seizure disorder — discuss with your treating specialist.
